We partner with other Community Organisations to provide help and services to the people of Berkeley and surrounds. Anglicare in particular, provide a number of professional services to people in the Illawarra including counselling, financial and food help.
If you’re finding it difficult to pay for household bills or need someone to talk to about your financial situation, we can put you in touch with professionals who can provide immediate practical assistance with utility bills, financial counseling, StepUp Loans, assistance with rent arrears and more.
If you’re finding it difficult to pay for food, we can put you in touch with help to provide immediate practical assistance through mobile community pantry or emergency food relief. Anglicare’s Mobile Community Pantry comes to the OpShop on Winnima Way regularly. Get in touch to find out when!
Parenting + Youth
Parenting can be challenging! We recognise the issues faced by parents and offer support, activities and education to help build strong and happy families. When relationships break down, specialised programs can provide support to adults and children dealing with negative impacts. Qualified counsellors and educators provide a range of parenting and life skills education.
Counselling offers privacy and safety for you to speak about your concerns to someone who is professionally trained and impartial. This can help you to understand what is happening, clarify goals and consider options for change. Counselling is available to all people regardless of culture, beliefs or lifestyle.
It’s extremely important for people to feel part of a community, connect with others and feel safe in social environments. We partner with the Berkeley Neighborhood Center who run a variety of general and special interest activities during the week. Come along to meet people, learn a new skill, do some group gardening or bring your kids to a free Playgroup.
Feel free to get in touch with us to find out how we might be able to help you. You can call into the OpShop during the week on Winnima Way to have a chat and a cuppa or give Pastor Wayne a call on 0400357460.
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.
